The Sublime is Us searches for a pure transparent and vulnerable performance state. Driven by an almost childlike, innocent desire to be closer to, or “touch” the audience, the work invites us into the dancer’s work space, the studio.

The Sublime is Us explores the tension between what is seen and what is experienced in dance, ultimately celebrating sensuality and pleasure.

The Sublime is Us was commissioned by the Bessie Schönberg/First Light Commissioning and Creative Residency Program of Dance Theater Workshop with support from the Jerome Foundation, the Ford Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Jerome Robbins Foundation. Additional Funding was provided by The Leonard and Sophie Davis Fund.
